Light of the Father

The Beginning: Born in the hills that surrounded Leá Monde, a child of the occupation of Dalmasca, Ovelia has served most of her life as a devout priestess of Faram: kept secret and secluded, for fear of reprisal from Garlemald.

Furor Imperialis: Ovelia's world would swift be turned upside down by the fate of Dalmasca. Hers was among many monasteries that were sacked and destroyed, leaving her destitute. She supposes to be a sole survivor of the assault on her home: and every metric would speak as to the truth of that.

Hooks

  • Dalmascan: Clearly not from Eorzea, easy to hear in her cadence, her accent, or from the Ivalician trappings of her name.

  • Kiltia: A priestess of Faram, and never shy of it, Ovelia is always swift to speak of the faith, and can oftentimes be found preaching within her new home.

  • Resistance: Ovelia has ties to the resistance, and was smuggled out of Dalmasca by the efforts of its members, at great cost.

  • Strange Tattoo: Upon Ovelia's back sits a most peculiar tattoo, often visible due to her choice in attire. A Kiltian symbol in inverse.

Hello, thank you for reading my carrd. It's a heavy work in progress at the moment! More's to be added later. I'm a roleplayer with a wealth of experience. This character is on the more esoteric side of the setting; the carrd is kept deliberately vague in a few places.

Themes

Ovelia as a character leans heavily into themes of occultism, mysticism, theology. There's darkness to her backstory and her general state of being. Don't go in expecting someone meek and mewling however; in fact, she's a figure of quite some intensity.
